First day of Ramadan 2009 was on 22 August 2009. For Muslim in Malaysia and Singapore, the fast began on Saturday. The month began when Islamic authorities sight the crescent moon that marks the beginning of the lunar month.You will find many street stalls in all towns in KEDAH during this month all kinds of local food for the breaking of fast.
